The WSJ today reports on Pointstaff, Inc. and this new innovative e-recruiter directed at the staffing firm. But the company seems like an unnecessary middle man charging a fee.

"Mr. Bellman is the founder and chief executive officer of PointStaff Inc., a New York Internet-based hiring exchange -- a sort of central clearinghouse -- for staffing services and the businesses that use them. When a company needs to hire a temporary employee, it posts its request on PointStaff's Web site. PoinStaff then sends the request via e-mail or pager to the staffing companies that have the best chances of filling the positions -- usually those closest in proximity to the company in need. Next, the staffing companies send a list of potential candidates back to PointStaff. The names of candidates from multiple staffing firms that fit the companies' criteria are pooled together and passed along to the company making the request. Theoretically, a company can tap into candidates from as many as 1,000 temporary-staffing firms at once."
