Subject: The 'Tude Market

There definitely are agencies in NYC that PRIDE themselves on being SELECTIVE. These agencies only want a certain KIND of temp (I think most people can read between the lines here!).

What is funny to me is that the temp market in NYC is very competitive and (unlike years ago) no one agency seems to have a lock on any market or client. For every 'TUDE agency I've run into, all I've had to do is go to the agency next door and register with that agency. Also, I have been told by 'TUDE agencies that I am not RIGHT for clients that I have been working for for years through other agencies. (I was recently told by a "TUDE agency that my math scores on their test were "a little low", I have a BS in engineering.)

I have to say also, that these EXCLUSIVE AGENCIES do not really seem to be making all that much money right now. They don't have any work but they still have the attitude!

Don't let these people waste your time, you just have to keep registering with other agencies.
